Chugach Corporate Employees Host Alaska JCC Students

Tuesday, February 11, 2014

Chugach’s corporate office employees mentored 20 Alaska Job Corps Center (JCC) students, on Monday, Feb. 3 in honor of National Groundhog Job Shadow Day. The students participated in an overview of the company and a group discussion regarding job readiness and their future goals after graduation. Each student had the opportunity to shadow a Chugach employee for the day. Students toured the corporate offices, and met other Chugach staff members. They gained an inside look at the employee's respective department, roles and responsibilities.

Participating Alaska JCC students came from the Office Administration and Accounting Services trades. The students were assigned homework to reflect on their career goals, and Chugach mentors have started receiving homework from their mentees.

We would like to extend our thanks to the Shareholder Development department and Alaska JCC staff who coordinated this valuable learning opportunity, as well as the generous employees listed below who volunteered to mentor the students for the day.
